BIRDS!

Yes! You read right, we bought ducks and chickens. We decided Talon needed a pet but didn't want a dog because they are too high maintenance so we got the most easily disposable animals, ducks and chickens.
The ducks are named Daffy and Donald, we are not sure who is who because we just like to call them Duck and Duck. Talon Loves following them around the yard and talk to them. The ducks will then follow him around and if we get too far away they run really fast to catch up with us.
These are the chickens, Sanka (black one) Irv (big one) and Hugo. We think Sanka is a mutant chicken because he has ridiculously huge wings for a baby chick.
Dad and Talon watching the ducks. Talon hasn't killed any yet. He is really nice to the ducks he's only tried to squish one of their heads on a rock. But we have to be careful with the chickens, Talon hits them when they walk by so they go rolling and opens the cage and squishes them against the side, so we don't play with them.
I taught Talon the sign for bird when we bought them. He got the sign down pretty quick but he does it backwards. Sometimes like in the video it sounds like he is saying birds! It is so cute! The birds were worth getting just to watch and hear him say birds!

The After Party

Talon was pretty hyped up after eating his birthday cake. We all sat and watched him go crazy!

1 YEAR!

1 year! Man how time flies! I can't believe it!
We had a party with dinner, presents and cake at Grandma and Grandpa Wheeler's.
Grandma and Grandpa Poole, Aunt Lindsey and Uncle Jake all came up to celebrate.
Talon was a little timid with his cake at first dipping his finger but soon dug in.

Then he crawled all over the table trying to eat everyone else's cake. This is how Talon always stands around, like a gorilla. He is so silly.

Sledding

We took Talon sledding a couple weeks ago for his first time. He was silent til we stopped at the very bottom, he would let out a high pitch scream!

The First Shot

After a year of working on his gun Tyler got to shoot his gun off for the very first time last night.
He was pretty nervous the shot when my dad told him to walk out a bit from the shelter just in case something went wrong.

The Past Month

I realized I haven't updated anything for a month so here are lots of pictures of Talon! He is growing up so fast. This is my favorite picture that I have taken of him this past month. Classic Talon.
This is a great picture showing all of Talon's teeth. He has 6 in total, 4 on top, 2 on bottom. I noticed today another one just popped up on the bottom, so I guess that makes 7.
It has been really warm and nice the past couple of weeks and we have taken full advantage of it. Talon is having soo much fun exploring. I know he is ready for a nap when he is wondering aimlessly in a daze and I pick him up and he instantly falls asleep. He loves being outside.

Yes I watch my kid. Some days this is his favorite place to play, the most dangerous place. Pots full of dirt that can fall, glass that can shatter, pill bottles, a pocket knife and high up on a table.
Talon lately has been loving to stuff as much food in his mouth as possible.
Talon likes to get into my jar that holds my hair pins. One day he decided to stick his hold hand in there and got it stuck. I found him whimpering and banging his hand against the floor.
Talon got a tube for Christmas, we keep it inflated because it is his favorite place to play, and eat in and sometimes fall asleep in.
Playing in the kitchen sink. He played in it Forever!
Cool Hair!
We got home from church and Daddy and Talon crashed. So precious to see this.
Talon discovering that pencils are not just to chew on.

Beads!

Tyler brought back tons of beads from New Orleans. They are Talon's and Jack's favorite toys.

Jack played with them the whole time we were there. He would walk around the house like this and than give one to everyone.

New Orleans

Tyler had to go to New Orleans on a business trip for a week. He had some crazy stories about mardi gras and the lifestyle down there. His favorite part was the Mansions down there. They are pretty amazing.
This picture makes me laugh. It was Mardi Gras down there. There is a parade 3 or 4 times in just a week, each one bigger than the next. Some families ( like this one) screw boxes on top of ladders for their kids to sit in so they higher than everyone else and can catch more beads. I don't think it's the safest thing with a crowd of drunk people.
Everyone in the parade was wearing costumes like this. They look like the KKK.
A street performer from Jamaica doing push-ups on a rail.
One of the floats! People pay a fee to ride these so they wear a mask, get drunk and throw beads. They had started to strap the people on the floats because they fall off sometimes.
New Orleans and Mardi Gras were quite an experience and one he never wants to do again.
