May

All of April we have spent indoors working on our kitchen remodel so it could be done before Tyler left for Alaska so I wouldn't go completely insane.
The first Saturday in May we finally got out for half the day as a family.  We went up to Twin and rode our bikes along the snake river to some waterfalls.  It was so much fun.

Talon loved seeing all the waterfalls and riding in the chariot, especially when we got on the single track and it was really bumpy, Kai didn't like it the bumps as much, there was both crying and laughing going on.

We also got our garden started and Kai loved it! He lived in the mud for a couple days while Tyler fixed a broken pipe.

Tyler left for Alaska on the 10th.  This weekend I came down to my parents house and we went on a hike up City Creek.  The boys loved throwing rocks off the bridge and Talon found a stick he could fish with.

I also decided while Tyler was gone to get a 1/2 marathon out of the way.
I was pretty happy with how I did. I ended up being 3 minutes faster then my goal time I had set
for myself, which was good for not getting all the training I should have.
oh ya, I also chopped off all my hair in April.  I love it! Thanks to my sister Lindsey, she is amazing at what she does.

1 Year Old!

Our little Kai is one!! How a year flies by!
We celebrated with the grandparents as he demolished his own personal birthday cake.
He was timid at first but when I cut it open and he realized it was cake he dug in.

Talon wanted Kai's cake soo bad, he kept stealing finger fulls of it. Luckily grandma made him his own little cake.
I love Kai's face in this picture, definitely feeling the effects of too much sugar but still going at it. He played in it for a really long time.

Kai is a very determined, happy, friendly little boy. He will go to anyone that puts there arms out to hold him.
He is such a goof, just thinking about him makes me laugh.
He is also my cuddle bug.  I love it when he holds his arms up to me and I pick him up and lays his head of my shoulder and lets me cuddle with him.
He loves dancing, playing the piano, playing with pots and pans, watching me cook, pretending to cook and attempting to play with his big brother.

He also LOVES the mud and water.  If there is anything that looks like he two he is over there before you know it.  There is no point in putting clothes him when I know I am watering the yard or garden.

This kid also loves to eat.  He usually eats his food and Talon's leftovers.  It shows to because he is catching up really fast to his brother.

How much he has changed in just one year.
My blonde hair, blue eyed boy.
Always on the go and Always smiling.
Bringing a smile to everyone else.

Being a mom has it's ups and downs.
Looking at this picture puts it all into perspective.
These are Children of God that my Heavenly Father has entrusted to me to show them the beauty in life and to teach them that they can do and be anything they want.
They were sent to me because I am the one who can teach them right from wrong, to share God's love, and be a light to the world.
What a huge responsibility, it is almost overwhelming at times, but I know I am not alone in my efforts.
I love my boys and am so grateful for the mission of motherhood.

Talon's 3rd Birthday!

Are little Talon is now 3!!!
We had such a fun Birthday.  We made a dragon cake this year for him.  He loved it! When he saw it he just stared at it.  After opening each present he would say "wow! this is cool!"  It was so precious.

Some of his presents.  Some cool sun glasses and a fishing pole.  He was so excited for his fishing pole and so was Grandpa Poole, he couldn't wait to show his grandson how to use it.

Here is Talon using his fishing pole for the first time. He went fishing with Grandpa and caught 6 fish!
He was pretty excited.
Talon is full of energy and imagination.  He will turn anything into a truck or a gun and there are always monsters lurking around every corner in our home.

Talon loves playing at the park and playing with other kids.  He will make fast friends with any kids he sees no matter their age.
Some of his favorite foods are grapefruit, blueberry bagels, grapes, mac n cheese, marshmallows and chocolate.
He still loves watching cars and planes, and Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer (yes, the christmas classic)
He loves to play in his "sand castle" in our backyard digging with his bulldozers, tractors and dump trucks,
he loves helping grandma and grandpa with the baby sheep and chasing them everywhere, he even got to help grandma give them shots!  He loves going to G&G Pooles and playing with the big train.  And he still loves camping, rock climbing, and roasting marshmallows around the fire.

He also loves riding his bike.  This was a fun day when we had some balloons, he had me tie them to his wrist and he rode his bike all around like that.  It was great to see the smile on peoples faces when they would pass him.

 I love my Talon!
I am always excited to hear and see what he will do next (most of the time.)
He reminds me to be happy with the simple things in life and that anything can be fun.

2014 So Far

It's amazing how winter went by so fast and now it is almost summer!
January passed by with lots of innovative playing.

This is Talon making an awesome jeep trail with the couch cushions.

Kai turned 9 months!

And Talon was almost 2 and loves being in the pictures and torturing his brother.

Kai learning how to walk.  he started walking on his own in February at 10 1/2 months!
We were at church in nursery and I set him down to help a kid and he got up and took 10 steps like it nothing.

 February Tyler turned 29!

Talon thought the garbage can was a great hiding place one night while we were playing.

Tyler at midnight working on one of his many projects.
This one is a gear bag to take to Denali.   It turned out awesome.

playing out in the yard on a great warm day.

We took Talon skiing at Pomerelle.  He loved it, didn't really get the technique down but that's ok.

On our way to see are cousins in Washington.

In April we got chickens and ducks.  This is Black Shadow and it goes everywhere with us.   Here we are taking him to the park. So far we have had 2 ducks die because he has loved them too much.
