Talon's First Mountain

The Last week of June we climbed the 8th tallest mountain in Idaho, Mount Hyndman.  We decided to make it an overnighter and try backpacking with Talon which worked out pretty good. We got a really late start (hiking in the dark) and didn't make it as far as we wanted. We only made it 2 miles in. The next morning we climbed to the top and back to the car (11 miles). Talon did Awesome!! It was so fun to take along.

Here is Talon in the morning, not to happy to be awake.

Give him a little food and he's great!
Talon taking a break from hiking up the trail happy as can be.
There was the prettiest river that cascaded along the trail!  The views this trail offered were amazing.  One of the prettiest hikes I have been on in a long time.
Talon fell asleep and his head was wobbling everywhere, so to keep it in one place we put my bandana around his head and tied it to the pack, it made him look like a hospital patient.
Taking a break  while scrambling up the last steep section of the mountain.
Talon had a lot of fun throwing rock.
The Top of Hyndman!!
 The hike back down.
One time we stopped to rest and Talon just took off, he'd hike a ways than turn around and wave bye, laugh, turned and kept going. He did that over and over again, we just sat and laughed til we realized he wasn't going to stop and wait for us.

Talon's first experience sledding down a mountain. Enjoy, don't get too worried it's safer than it looks.
